About Kyrié

こんにちは (konnichiwa)!

I’m Kyrié the Foodié, pronounced kee-ree-ay the food-ee-ay!

Growing up between Japan and the U.S., I’ve always lived in a cultural melting pot, moving over 10 times by the time I was in high school.

Being half-Japanese and half-White, the American in me has recognized how intimidating it can be to cook dishes from other countries. My upbringing instilled in me a deep appreciation for bridging cultural divides. That’s why I love crafting dishes that blend my background with Japanese flavors.

My culinary journey began at home, where my mom, a Sendai, Japan native, passed down her love for food and home cooking. Many of my recipes are cherished family traditions.

You may frequently see my husband, Farmer Jeff, on my social media or writing many of the gardening blog posts on here. We just got married in August 2024 and now live in Utah. We love doing everything together!

Beyond the culinary realm, I love running, weightlifting, hiking, painting, drawing, and playing the piano. I find inspiration in various forms of artistic expression!

I’m glad you’re here and hope you find some joy and inspiration from my recipes!
