Scale
- 1 cup uncooked Japanese short-grain or medium grain rice
- 1.3 cup bone/chicken broth (substitute for water)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 cup corn kernels
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Begin by giving your rice a good rinse to clean it. Then pour it into the rice cooker, along with the appropriate amount of water. Be sure to follow the instructions for the correct bone broth (or water) amount depending on the type of rice you are using. I used Nishiki-brand medium-grain rice, which requires 2 cups of water for every 1.5 cups of rice.
- Add the minced garlic and corn kernels to the rice cooker, right on top of the rice.
- Cook the rice according to your usual method.
- Once the rice is cooked, add the butter on top and season with black pepper. Gently mix the rice to ensure the butter melts and is evenly distributed throughout the rice.
